SEAAC and Noble Park English Language School - School Support

As Term Two drew to a close so did another successful partnership between SEAAC and the Noble Park and Hampton Park English Language Schools (NPELS).  Throughout the term students enjoyed a variety of workshops and information sessions facilitated by SEAAC around topics that were identified as useful to them.

These included an Introduction to Law workshop run by Springvale, Monash Legal services, and a session around overcoming sleep difficulties with Mind Australia.  In addition the students participated in physical fitness sessions and a variety of outdoor activities focusing on health and wellbeing.

Term Two highlights included the excursion to ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) where students visited the highly interactive Screen Worlds exhibition.  The Old Melbourne Jail excursion proved popular with the Noble Park students who had the opportunity to show and improve their acting skills in a workshop about culpable driving.  Students were asked to reenact a courtroom scene in which a P Plate driver was on trial for manslaughter caused by irresponsible driving.  As most of the students soon became eligible to sit for their L-plates this session was pertinent in raising awareness regarding responsible driving.
